Step1   Free talk

1. T: Hello, boys and girls. Today we are going to go on learning this unit. But this is the fourth period.

What are you going to do at this lesson? Can you try to guess the plan for this lesson?

You may guess like this: We are going to…

S2: …

2. T: we are going to evaluate ourselves in groups according to ticking time. We are going to focus on these two below.

1) I can talk about Chinese New Year

2) I can use: am, is, are going to talk about the plans,

  Are you ready?  Here we go!

Step2  Finish checkout time

1. As we know, Anna wrote an email to her e-friend Su Hai. Now Su Hai is also writing an email to Anna. Look, but here “re” , what does it mean?

What does it stand for?

S1: Remember?

It means” reply”

Now read Su Hai’s email, help Su Hai complete it. You can choose these words and write them down,

2. From their emails, you know something about Chinese New Year, now let’s know more about it . Before you listen to it, look, you can find the key words and you can also remember some interesting details. The more, the better.

S5: Before Chinese New Year, we usually paste spring couplets, Fu is usually put upside down, It means “fu comes”,

Step3  I can talk about Chinese New Year

1. Now let’s use the sentences to talk about Chinese New Year.

1.      Find a partner first.

2.      Ask questions to your partner.

Well, let me tell you. When we are talking about Chinese New Year, we can talk about the things that people usually do. The things that you did last year. And the things that you are going to do this year.

Step4  I can use “ am/ is/ are going to …” to talk about plans.

1. New Year’s Day is coming. For teachers, we are going to have a New Year’s Day party at the school hall on Dec. 31st. It is going to be held from 19:00 pm to 21:00 pm. At first, we are going to have a singing contest, then we are going to play lottery games, a lot of gifts are waiting for you. At last, we are going to dance together. I’m sure that we are going to have a lot of fun. Would you like to join us? Welcome!

3.      Try to write your plans logically and correctly.
