这两个星期,我给冲刺南外的学生上提高班,真正体会了“教学相长”的意思。南外历年的考试题中都有50分左右的数学题,讲解这些题对我是个很大的挑战,有些题我确实做不出来,于是就请数学学霸上台讲解,收到了很好的效果,我自己也从学生那儿学到了不少做题方法,很有收获。

下面列举一些让我印象深刻的题:

1.       Fold a rope for N times, and cut it in the middle. You will get a total of 33 sections. How many times was it folded in half?

做题方法:2n+1=33    n=5

2.       In a test, the average grade of a group of six students is 88. Paper full marks are 100. Alice’s score is 82. Charles is one of the lowest scores. How much is Charles’ score at least?

做题方法:6×88-82-4×100=46

3.       There are two candles with different lengths. The shorter one can be burned for 11 hours. The longer one can be burned for 7 hours. The two candles were lit at the same time, 3 hours later the remainders had the same lengths. What is the ratio of the original length of the shorter candle to the longer one?

做题方法:1-3/11=1-3/7 8/11=4/7 得出8/11= 8/14   因此答案是:11:14

这些英语数学题,如果学生在平时不练习,临考时是肯定摸不着头脑的,因此不少打定主意冲南外的学生早就在外面补课了。其实,结合我自己做这些题的亲身体验,我觉得有一大半的题只要学生能读懂,运用校内教的数学知识也能做出来,并不用去搞很难的奥数题,学生在校内打好基础是非常重要的。因此,我想,在高年级时,英语老师可以通过“每课一题”的方式让学生接触这些题,多做一些跨学科教学的研究,调动学生的学习兴趣,这能打开更多学生的思路,让高高在上、略显神秘的“南外题”走下神坛,走进寻常学生的视野。
